And, if you haven’t already had enough, take our president. No doubt he’s vain and egocentric. He may even be a sociopath. But he also holds the most powerful position in the world. This isn’t to suggest he does or does not have an illness. Simply, his particular pathology doesn’t prevent him from having a good job and material success. (It remains to be seen if his extreme personality flaws catch up with him.)

This would be to ignore the fact that Trump has had several very smart sociopaths weilding him from behind the scenes, such as Bannon and Stone... Trump is smart in some ways -- he knows how to communicate with conceited idiots, mostly because he is one -- indeed, he is very much the useful idiot in many ways.
