This poblem doesn't need an AI, though, does it?

Fox News relies on outrage and anger (and massive amounts of misdirection) to profit. Even the BBC, which isn't even about profit (directly) is less and less about asking penetrating questions or holding people to account but more and more about passivity and letting certain politicians control the the narrative, unquestioned and unimpeded, thereby allowing absolute bullshit to go out to millions with the stamp of respectability that the BBC logo provides.
