"It never ceases to amaze me how the left picks and chooses items to support their narratives."
Sure. Because that never happens on the right. Sorry, which AK-toting Starbucks patron is an *organized* militia?
Note I'm not denying that the "left" do that, just pointing out your hypocrisy in ignoring the same (and, I would say far more frequent) occurrences on the right.
'“The constitution says sedition!” (Just ignore the part that talks about how elections are to be conducted)'
Sure, meanwhile McConnell can claim precedent for stopping a Democratic SCOTUS pick in the final year of a presidential term AND for insisting upon it, despite there being less time.
'“Climate change and masking! Because… Science!” (Unless science says there are only 2 genders, then the left doesn’t want to hear about science)'
It depends how you're deploying the words sex and gender, but science also shows that gender identity is defined by the brain -- which only "usually" correlates with the external manifestations of sex -- this being the bit that a lot of people seem to miss, especially in their rush to claim biological sex as the be-all and end-all. The problem with biological determinism is that the brain is also a biological entity, one which helps the individual to determine their gender and it is distinct from the external manifestations, but no less driven by physiology, sex hormones and the other outputs of particular chromosome pairings.
In addition, a lot of aspects of gender are social constructions, many examples of exactly opposite expectations of a given gender in different cultures exist. So, in rushing to claim the scientific high ground you've ignored vast swathes of science, cultural anthropology and history, but, you know, whatever supports your narrative.
Climate change, by contrast, is not affected by the genetics of a given brain, only the opinion about it is. And that opinion is swayed against the reality of Climate Change in people who place the importance of (their take on) reality in the social environment ahead of reality in the general environment.
'“A Trump rally is a superspreader event!” (But a BLM protest is completely ok) the list goes on and on and gets more ridiculous every year."'
I encounter this one a lot. So far, no one has been able to point to a BLM protest where the majority are not wearing masks. So, you know, find one. And then find enough to come anywhere near the numbers represented by those Trump rallies. I won't hold my breath.
As to ridiculousness, is there anything more ridiculous than voting for a president that has told more than 25,000 documented lies in a single term in office (presumably to support his narrative)? Is there anything more ridiculous than voting for a party that claims to be all about values, but has 70 times more indictments of presidential administrations (presumably whilst conducting activities in service to their narratives)?
