That ignores the massive disparity between the number of unwanted children and the number of infertile couples. We're talking orders of magnitude different.

In addition, having a baby because you happened to fall pregnant (maybe despite taking appropriate measures) is not somethig you "just" do, particularly in the context of the joke that is American healthcare (because the onus would disproportionately fall on the poor and uninsured).
