Did the survey state what it meands by "traditional American way of life"? I'd warrant that the 55% of Republicans and 15% of Democrats have contradictory views.

The US used force to arrest the insurrectionists and that may be the force that the Democrats are talking about. Of course, the insurrectionists also used force, and that may be what the Republicans are talking about.

Those are two quite differet meanings of the world force, too.
